Kitchen Guide

What type of dates are ideal for this platter?

Large Medjool dates work best due to their size, softness, and natural sweetness, allowing easy shaping and filling.

Can the nut filling be substituted?

Yes, walnuts or hazelnuts can replace almonds and pistachios for a different flavor profile while maintaining texture.

How can the shapes be created easily?

Small cookie cutters shaped like stars and crescents help achieve consistent, clean shapes on each date.

Is there an alternative to honey for brushing?

Agave syrup works well as a vegan-friendly substitute, providing similar shine and sweetness.

What is the purpose of orange blossom water in the filling?

It adds a subtle floral aroma and balances the nutty and citrus flavors, enhancing overall taste complexity.
